GUILTY PLEASURE

This album probably doesn't need any more endorsements, but Beck's new Modern Guilt is fantastic. 30 compact minutes of fuzzy, rocking psyche tunes. Beck is either deeply engrossing and heartfelt as in Sea Change or eclectic and corny as hell as in Midnight Vultures. In this album, he strikes a terrific synthesis of both his introspective folkie and his wild rocker. Catchy choruses and rich, rich production. I can't wait to listen to these tunes, cruising down the road in California, on the way to the beach.
